Friday morning we went to the Galleria Borghese, which is a privately owned collection of art that the public is allowed to buy a ticket and go see. We thought we were going to have to walk the whole way there (becuase of the train strike) so we met an hour and a half earlier than our appointment to get into the Gallery. But, as it turned out, Esther (our program director) chased after and flagged down a bus for us, so we got there a half hour early. . . oh well!
The gallery was wonderful, but they didn't even let you take cameras or bags of any sort into the building, so I have only a couple exterior pics to show you. . .
There are some original Caravaggio paintings and Bernini sculptures in there, so it was pretty exciting!
